Our Passion
Thunderstruck Collies is committed to upholding the highest standards of the Collie breed, preserving its inherent beauty, intelligence, and spirit. Our breeding program is designed to produce both Rough and Smooth Collies that epitomize correct type, health, and temperament. We aim to produce dogs that excel in the show ring while also becoming cherished family companions. All dogs within the Thunderstruck Collies breeding and show program are co-owned with my mother, Terrie Koehne.
Every breeding is carefully planned with intention and purpose. We strive to produce Collies that possess physical and mental soundness, outstanding virtues, and the enduring traits that define true Collie character. Each litter reflects a long-term vision grounded in the Collie Standard and shaped by continued education, hands-on experience, and the guidance of respected mentors within the breed.
Thunderstruck Collies is a family-supported program. My mother, Terrie Koehne, is a proud member of the Collie Club of America and has been a valued part of our journey with the breed. Her support is deeply appreciated, while the breeding decisions, evaluations, planning, and direction of Thunderstruck Collies remain centered on the standards and goals I have established for the program.
Thunderstruck Collies operates on a limited scale, prioritizing quality over quantity in order to maintain the highest standards. Our goal is not simply to produce puppies, but to thoughtfully preserve and improve the qualities that make the Collie such an extraordinary breed for generations to come.

Exceptional Care
Our facility provides puppies with exceptional care, exceeding the standards of most breeders. We personally supervise deliveries and closely monitor the neonates during their critical early stages. As the future of the Collie breed and the source of joy for their prospective families, these newborns represent our bloodline. Our rigorous puppy-rearing process yields healthy, socialized puppies that are physically and mentally more advanced, ready for their new homes. Puppy socialization, especially during the crucial early weeks, is a critical aspect of raising a well-adjusted dog, and as breeders, we play a vital role in this process. We understand that a puppy's early experiences shape their temperament and behavior as adults, and we actively work to expose puppies to a variety of sights, sounds, people, and environments. This early socialization helps puppies develop into confident, adaptable dogs who are less likely to develop fear or aggression later in life.
